Good old Bonds looks like he got caught in the act

SPORTS RANT: Performance Enhancer Drugs?

If you havent been hiding under a rock recently you may have heard of this little baseball controversy with the all the performance enhancer drugs. Just recently the press got a hold of five names accused of using drugs, one of them included was the all time leader in home runs Barry Bonds himself.

Now a lot of people say this has ruined baseball, but it has been going on for years before you and me probably knew about it. Atheletes are always trying to get that extra edge and pushing there bodies to the limit. The players union up until now has been able to stop random drug testing but that may or may not change very soon.

My whole stance on the subject is either test everyone and completely get rid of the drugs all together and put everyone on an even playing field, but lets face it that is not going to happen, physicians are always finding new drugs that are undectable in the system so you are never going to stop it completly. Here is my suggestion now which may offend some of you if anyone is even reading this at all. My suggestion would to be just let the players take thier stieroids or whatever they take to get in edge. Its no secret these drugs are harmful to you, and im sure the players are well aware of the health consequences of what they are doing, so if they are willing to accept those consequences just let it go. Hell, it even makes the game more entertaining. Now i know what your thinking "THESE PLAYERS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ROLE MODELS!!!!" but serioulsy when in recent history have been players in any sport role modes come one; wife beatings, murder suspects, racist remarks, money worshipping. Dont get me wrong there are still pro athletes that are good people and good role models but the bad ones get all the attention anyways, but i digress.  In conclusion just let the baseball players get thier edge they will be paying for it in the future.
